Rabbi Max was born in Richmond, VA, but grew up in John's Creek, GA for most of his life. In 2011 Rabbi Miller graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park, with a Bachelor of Arts and Humanities in Jewish Studies. After teaching English for a year in Ramla, Israel, Rabbi Miller began his rabbinical studies in the Summer of 2012 in Jerusalem. Rabbi Miller continued his studies in Cincinnati, Ohio, and he was ordained in May, 2017. Today, Rabbi Miller serves his home synagogue, Temple Emanu-El, in Sandy Springs, Georgia.
While in Jerusalem, Rabbi Miller met the love of his life and fellow rabbinical student Rachael (neé Klein). In 2015 they were married at the Plum Street location of I.M. Wise Temple. Today, both Rabbi Max and Rabbi Rachael Miller serve on the clergy team at Temple Emanu-El.
